Pink Glam Baby Shower
Hello all! I am already almost a month out from my beautiful baby shower, and boy-oh-boy did it take me a while to get on here and share the festivities. Being in my last month of pregnancy, my energy has completely tanked, my to-do list is never ending, and I had an abundance of gifts to filter into my home. I am still completely overwhelmed by all of the amazing and generous friends and family that surround me.
At the beginning of my pregnancy I wasn't sure if I would be having a baby shower. Is it tacky to have one if its not your first? Maybe if so much time has passed its ok? Then I found out I was having a girl, and that makes it a little more exciting doesn't it? So I had assumed it would just be a small get together planned by mom, she's a busy lady and my closest girlfriends are all hard working mommies as well. Then, my long time friend Chanita offered to host. I thought she was nuts to offer... she just had her daughter last Summer, works a full time job that requires travel, and so many other life responsibilities. BUT! with the wild parties we used to throw 10+ years ago, I knew she'd have fun planning a fun, yet glamorous and sophisticated gathering.
It all started with just a handful of inspo images I found on Pinterest and Chanita ran with it! We were totally on the same page of what would be perfectly fit for little Rosie. Peachy pinks with touches of gold, roses (of course), vintage vibes, and lots of sweets & booze for guests...
Highly recommended for any baby shower where the Mom wants her guests to feel free to be a little tipsy is the "Mom"osa Bar! I love the color it brought in to the room, and was displayed so well on my mom's vintage buffet. And for those who wanted to take it up a notch there were these scrumptious strawberry margaritas.... pre-mixed for easy pouring! (it also looks nice don't ya think?)
The day after we discussed the details I happened to be in a random thrift store and spotted a large tub of a mixy-matchy tea set for only $50. Originally I was looking at high end paper plates and cups, but at this price per piece, it made sense to snag these! Inside this tub was a large amount of porcelain with gold trimmed plates in all sizes, along with matching tea cups, and then these gorgeous glass coupes in three sizes with etched gold trim. I love it when these meant to be finds just fall right into your arms.
The glasses from the thrift store were used for the finale dessert which contained angel food cake soaked in the above pictured Drillaud Rose Liquer, topped with strawberry ice cream, whipped cream, and a cherry. Nothing fancy in the prep, but it looked fabulous!
The sweets and roses were on EVERY table throughout the party! Chanita grabbed dozens of roses the day before the shower from the Los Angeles flower mart and the desserts came from her, my mom, and myself. There were some absolutely amazing custom made cookies, strawberry cupcakes, pink heart shaped Rice Krispie treats, yogurt covered pretzels, pink wafer cookies, & more!
My mother's home was perfectly complimentary for a shower for Rosie, complete with a rose garden in the front yard! Pictured below is me with both my mom and dad <3
Pictured above by my friend Spike (@spikeandthecamera) is my friend Susana... another mommy friend of mine with her daughter in the garden.
This may possibly be the last photo of just the 4 of us, next time there will be a 5th addition. Who will she look like the most?
