Dressing an Hourglass Figure
It's a typical Sunday here, which includes a late-ish start to the day, then finding something to do with my husband and kids. Since I wanted to give my newly delivered ivory slacks from Ruby Rae Clothing a run through, hitting Disneyland or the beach wasn't an option. (Sorry boys, sometimes Mom's clothes dictate our plans).
Expecting to just do some window shopping and grab a bite to eat in Olde Town Orange, I was delighted to stroll right by this mid century home, newly renovated with a color scheme all to my Sunday get-up, so.... impromptu photo sesh! Per usual, Max had to jump in on the action, "I want to take a picture with Mommy." Look at my little man (below).
Back to the pants... Over at Ruby Rae, items are custom made to your measurements, and these slacks truly fit like a glove. That is the best, especially when they have such a high rise. On top I grabbed my thrift-store-find, wrap blouse, which is not only great for this summer Sunday, but also the best style construction for my body type. Since I have a natural, hourglass figure, well fitting garments can be a struggle for me. Wrap blouses, sweaters, and dresses, are always my go-to! These items make it a bit easier to fit my larger bust and hip measurements, while also pulling in at the waist.
Accessories include my lucite vintage springolators, clear cateye sunglasses, a retro Sun Jellies pink handbag, and a pink hair flower. I am always looking for a pop of pink!
