Modern Pieces for a Vintage Vogue Inspo
Today's outfit was originally inspired by vintage Vogue. I had finally noticed an office building that I had grown up near by, and it was so familiar to me, that I never appreciated it. Surrounding the perimeter of the property are these tall angular columns, and between those columns and the building itself, is a breezeway with palms and rose bushes. It was a very relaxing design to be literally standing in.
Although the lines of this structure are hard and modern, I wanted both my colors and silhouette to be soft. Opposites attract!
I started with finding a bottom piece, as I always do when pairing separates. This textured, high waist and below-the-knee white skirt from Emerald & Palm felt on-point for my location. Keeping with those feminine, vintage vibes, I tried on a blush pink, rayon blouse, from my closet that has a bow front.
I thought it could start looking too fancy real quick, but went for my hair down, no jewelry, and slipped into some clear Cinderella style flats instead of heels. Love it! Those final styling choices made my outfit look effortless.
I am sorry to say that all the items I styled today's outfit with are unavailable, but below I have included similar items. The one I am most excited to share are jellies flats that come in both silver and rose gold for less than $11!
