It's Halloween! On Saturday night I was the host of my friend's annual Curse of the Tiki show. I am such a procrastinator when it comes to my outfits, I never plan ahead, and just assume I can throw something on and look acceptable. I should have planned ahead for this event, but that's pretty much impossible when you're a busy mom (as I write this I have Max sleeping in my lap!).
So I didn't think of any sort of themed outfit until a couple hours before I had to get ready. Seriously! I knew I had a black taffeta, 80s does 50s, Gunne Sax dress that already had sun bleach stains on it, so unless I was planning on dying it (never had luck with that) I was going to have to think of something to make this dress shine again.
With minimal time to set my curls and paint my makeup on... out came the puffy paint! I free handed these webs as my bust form modeled my dress. They looked alright, but I had not clue how it would look on. There wasn't enough time to try on the dress before rushing out and dropping the kids at Grandma's, but I did think to grab my gold spider brooch and stick him on there for added sparkle.
At the show, my first step on stage I hear two women simultaneously yell, "I love your dress!" Mission accomplished!
