Scalloped Tiers of Lace
I am delighted to introduce to you... Wardrobe Shop! A new-to-me brand, providing beautiful & authentic clothing, recreated with inspiration from the 1920s, '30s, and '40s. When I first heard about Wardrobe Shop, I did not know what to expect when I clicked on that link, and I was pleasantly surprised with not only the variety of styles and colors, but also the authenticity of their dresses.
Since I have been wearing vintage and classic repro clothing, there have really only been a handful of brands representing the majority of what is out there in reproduction designs. Now within those companies, there are some I love, and others that are so cheaply made I don't even understand how they stay in business. However, part of me creating Platinum Parlor is to share with you that there is so much more! I love hunting for beautiful & unique things with both vintage and modern retailers . Part of that is because I like to own things and style myself differently than others. I do not want to be a replica of another's style.
I love hunting for beautiful & unique things with both vintage and modern retailers. I clearly enjoy a classic silhouette, but it is also because I like to own things and style myself differently than others. At Wardrobe Shop they have wedding dresses, beaded flapper dresses, Titanic style dresses, and even delicate, tea style dresses like the blue lace Age of Love design I am wearing.
I asked my husband to help me pick out my dress, and although he loves me in pastels, and even more light blue, it makes me so happy his eye noticed the wrap neckline, lace detail, and scalloped tiers (also notice the slip has scalloped edging on the neckline). The color matches perfectly with my eyes, and the details speak to my classic style. On this Fall afternoon, I wore my dress paired with vintage accessories and no cardigan was needed while soaking in that (still) warm, California sun.
